Employability

Our Career Architect programme is designed to ensure that the medical technology sector is able to retain the skills that are developed by early career researchers in regenerative medicine, by addressing the issues they face in making a career transition from academia to industry.

The programme consists of small group workshops, peer-mentoring, individual coaching, group and individual fieldwork and personal action planning. We help researchers look at what’s important to them, their values and strengths, to determine what motivates them and what direction they wish their career to take.

The programme then helps them identify options that would provide the career satisfaction they require, as well as providing practical advice and skills to market themselves, build their professional networks, craft a well-targeted, high-quality CV and develop effective interview strategies.

Now in its fourth year, the programme was initially piloted with post-doctoral researchers in medical technologies but has now been extended to all science, technology, engineering and medical students and is also offer to final year PhD students within the Leeds Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
