Musculoskeletal Disease: Unmet Needs in Clinical Diagnostics

Date: June 6, 2014 @ 10:30 AM

Location: University of Leeds

You are invited to attend a workshop on Unmet Needs in Clinical Diagnostics in Musculoskeletal Diseases in at the University of Leeds on Friday, 6 June 2014, 10.30am-4pm. By bringing together clinicians, academics and members of industry, we plan to explore clinical needs in growth areas of musculoskeletal diseases, including giant cell arteritis (GCA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), with a view toward identifying potential solutions from new technologies in development. By highlighting the current limitations in diagnosis we wish to explore how in vitro diagnostics might address these gaps.

Planned outputs of the workshop include:

1) An articulated and prioritised listing of unmet clinical needs in MSK diagnostics;
2) Establishment of collaborations between industry, clinicians and academics which will be ready to respond to relevant funding calls;
3) Brokered partnerships between participants to pursue collaborative projects.

The workshop is being jointly sponsored by the Stratified Medicine Hub at the University of Leeds and the British In Vitro Diagnostic Association. Attendance is by invitation only as we are restricted by numbers. If you are unable to attend we would welcome your suggestions of other colleagues that might be interested in attending.
